Upland Bird Hunting Packages

Conveniently located in historic Central Texas, between Austin and San Antonio, B&R Outfitters specializes in the individualized hunting experience. We take only one party into the field at a time, to experience wing shooting over quality, trained pointers in fields of cut grain, stands of oak or wide open spaces.

Upland bird hunting is offered from October through February and sometimes later depending on the weather.

At B&R, every hunt isn’t just a private hunt; it’s one that is professionally guided by Kyle Reneau and Robert “Big dawg” McFerrin, who combined have two decades of guiding experience, along with bird boys, game processing on site and non-alcoholic drinks.

The Early Bird package

This is two full days of hunting packed into one. An early-morning arrival is followed by 45 minutes of warming up on clay pigeons, a four-hour hunt for cagey chukars, lunch and more clay shooting followed by an afternoon pheasant hunt. Dinner caps off the day, followed by time on the back porch, lodging at the Timmerman homestead and an early departure the next day. 5-gun minimum. $1000.00 per gun. price per party: $5000.00

The Night Owl package

This is for the hunter who enjoys a night out in historic Gruene and a little rest. A noon arrival is followed by warming up on clay pigeons and an afternoon mixed bag hunt for chukars and fast-flying pheasants. Dinner is in nearby, historic downtown Greune, Texas. After a night at the Timmerman homestead, breakfast is served, followed by an easy-going clay-shooting tournament, lunch and another mixed bag hunt. Dinner and drinks follow. After rest and breakfast, there is even a late checkout. 5-gun minimum, $1250.00 per gun. price per party: $6250.00

The Texas Long Weekend package

We specially designed this package, based on years of guiding, for the hunter who wants it all. This package is three full days of hunting, overnight lodging at the Timmerman homestead And entertainment in nearby, historic Gruene, Texas – perfect not just for the hunter but the company that wants to show some Texas-style hospitality to its clients and customers.

A mid-day arrival on Friday is followed by sporting clays and a four-hour hunt for wiley chukars. Dinner is served promptly at the Timmerman homestead at 7:00 p.m., followed by a little time on the back porch. Saturday breaks with an early breakfast, and a morning hunt for pheasants. Lunch, a clay tournament and evening cocktails await before a trip to historic Gruene Hall and dinner, cliffside at the famous Gristmill Restaurant, over the Guadalupe River.

Sunday features breakfast, a mixed bag hunt and a leisurely noon check-out. 5-gun minimum, $1450.00 per gun, $7250.00
